Friday 14th July 2022

Topic: STRIVE TO WALK BLAMELESS

Devotional Reading: Genesis 17:1 – 19

Memorize: And When Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly: Genesis 17: 1&2

We thank God for bringing us to the end of another working week, some people will say “Thak God it’s Friday”. The journey of life as a believer continues. Once you give your life to Christ and you are born again, you enter into a new covenant with God through Christ. There are many Christians who claim to be God’s covenant people but are not enjoying the benefits of the covenant. God’s covenant only gets confirmed when a man is reconciled to God through Christ and begins to walk upright before Him, you must then strive to be blameless. From our Devotional Memorise of today, God told Abram to walk before him and be blameless, only then he will enjoy the blessings of the covenant. This requirement is not just for Abraham, it is for every believer. For Abrahamic blessings to come upon you, just like with Abraham, you too must walk blameless before God, No one recieve divine blessings from God in a sinful state. Noah was a righteous man and blameless among the people of his time and he walked with God. Genesis 7.

Enoch also walked with God, and he was no more because God took him away. Genesis.5:24 the deeper you are in God, the higher your greatness. Covenant blessings of God are not for strangers or unbelievers, but for true followers of Christ, those who have been washed by the blood of the lamb, whose garments are pure and clean without spot or wrinkle. Your ability to follow and obey God in and out of season gives you unhindered access to His covenant blessings. Many Christians sing Abrahams blessings are mine, but they fail to live a life that qualifies them for those blessings. When you act in disobedience to God or your father in the lord according to the word of God, you cannot be blessed, it does not matter how many pastors or prophets pray for you. Some people, when it is time to work for God, they give excuses – “my work or business is keeping me busy so God understands” Well, man may understand but God doesn’t understand such excuses, He gave you the job or business on the platform of an expectation that you will serve & honour Him even with your business and be closer to Him.

I have discovered that many people get closer to God when they are in need of something from Him, but as soon as God blesses them, the word “God understands” will be frequent in their mouth. They become distant to those things closer to the heart of God, even to go for evangelism becomes a problem, to pay Tithe, they will give excuses, they become more knowledgeable than the Holy Spirit.

David said “I will praise Him seven times a day” Psalms 119:164 regardless of your business or work, your relationship with God should not be traded for anything because without Him, you are nothing.

I will keep preaching about holiness and encourage believers to build stronger relationship with God, build an inner steel, passion and love for God, be loyal to Him, because that is the only way you can enjoy the benefits loaded in the covenant of Abraham. This month is our month of Elevation, God us faithful are to perform it, but how many believers are qualified for it? If you are not a recognised child of covenant, you cannot claim the blessings of the covenant. Jesus speaking in John 15:15 “I call you not servants but friends”. Make efforts to change your position and become a friend of God.

I pray that the LORD will keep and preserve you as you strive to be one of his loyal children, in the name of Jesus. I also pray for you that you will develop a deeper & closer relationship to God so that you can be a friend of God. Happy gratitude Friday!

Prayer: Father, please help me draw closer to you, empower me to live a life that is blameless in Jesus name.

Key Dose: ‎A blameless life is essential to fulfil purpose and accomplish destiny in life.
